The Over-examined Life

“The unexamined life is not worth living.”

Apparently Socrates said that.

It makes sense.

I generally agree and I typically enjoy contemplating the mysteries of the universe.

But, I’m starting to think that statement needs a qualifier.

“The over-examined life is not worth living.”

I don’t think Socrates said that, but I think may be true.

We can tie ourselves in knots and logically argue ourselves into exasperation.

It’s the idea of paralysis by analysis.

We get stuck thinking about life instead of actually living it.

So, at least for today, I’m going to focus on living it.

Short post, but that’s the point.

Just for now, stop examining.

Go live life.

(I’m saying this mostly to myself, but if it applies to you, by all means…)
