On The Brevity of Life:

We all, at some level, are on the same quest.

We share a common fate and goal.

We have a limited number of days and we want to live each one well.

The clock is always ticking. We’re constantly moving toward the end of our lives.

That sounds pretty depressing.

Until you learn to accept it and start looking around.

You start to realize everything is very precious. It’s rare.

It’s special. One of a kind.

Then this idea is beautiful.

Life is valuable because it is precious, special, rare, one of a kind.

Life becomes rich. Days and moments are for savoring.

We accept that we don’t have forever.

That makes what we have special.

Today is a gift.

(I took the above picture yesterday on a run. It reminds me how small we are)
