I found this clip the other day and was struck by the simplicity and practicality of it.
We all want to be people who are generous.
We’re just busy.
We’ve got a ton of stuff to do.
When we’re rushing from one thing to another it’s hard to stop and be generous.
It doesn’t seem like it comes very naturally.
In this clip, Adam Grant talks about the Five-Minute Favor.
He calls it a “microloan of your time, your skills, your network to benefit other people.”
I think I can pull this one off.
I think I can give five minutes.
I can leverage what I have for the benefit of others.
I want to, it just seems overwhelming.
That’s why I’m going to try five minutes.
You don’t go from your couch to a marathon overnight.
First you run one mile, then two, etc.
So let’s start with five minutes.
Let’s get creative.
Let’s better the world around us.
That’s the kind of person I want to be.
