Peace be

with you.

"You have been invited to the party of existence."

Douglas Ottati

My name is Eric Hankins.

Originally from a small town outside of Akron, OH, I now live in Exton, PA with my wife April and our two. dogs, Biscotti & Cannoli (April has Italian heritage). I'm a contemporary worship leader at First Presbyterian Church of West Chester, PA.

We enjoy hiking, trying new vegan food, and grew a garden for the first time last year.

I like to read, run, listen to podcasts and write down various thoughts on occasion.

At 14 years old someone told me I should try out for the student band in our church. I did, and have been leading worship ever since.

This site is a chance to talk about God publicly and intentionally. A large part of my life has been what I think about God and how that affects the way I live. Sallie McFague said it this way, "

“Christian theology is the attempt to think about God and the world—who God is and who we are—in light of what the tradition has claimed in the past and what we must say in the present. Every Christian is a theologian; each of us has a theology. That is, each of us has a picture, a set of assumptions, usually not conscious, of how we think God and the world are related. And all of us can and do express through our words and actions who we think God is and who we think we are. These unconscious or implicit theologies are very powerful. They control many of our decisions and actions; we rely on them as justification for what we do personally and as a nation. Theology matters.”
